Prince George’s is seeking a dynamic and mission driven Director of Career Services to lead innovative workforce programs that change lives and strengthen our local economy. In this role, the Director of Career Services provides visionary leadership for WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs, as well as state and local workforce initiatives. In partnership with the Chief Program Officer, this position ensures that job seekers across the region receive high-quality, high-impact services. Scope of Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of 10+ workforce programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and funding requirements. Ensure compliance with WIOA and applicable state and local regulations
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to drive accountability, consistency, and high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor program performance and outcomes, implementing improvements as needed
  • Lead departmental strategy, including program design and expansion, using labor market data to align with in-demand industries
  • Coordinate across internal teams to strengthen talent pipelines and program effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, deliverables, and performance goals
  • Implement tools and systems to improve tracking, reporting, communication, and workflow management
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to Career Services management and staff, ensuring clarity of roles, expectations, and performance standards

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, or related field; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree; Master’s degree or project management certification preferred
  • 7 years of progressive experience in workforce development, non-profits, or social services
  • 3+ years in a senior supervisory role
  • Professional certifications in workforce development, project management, operations, or data analysis is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
  • Deep understanding of federal/state workforce programs, WIOA, and American Job Center
  • Expertise in labor market information, career pathways, and career readiness tools
  • Proven ability to manage large budgets and multi-partner collaborations
  • Skilled data analysis, performance management, and program evaluation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and AI tools
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to partner sites
